It's the small things that remind me I'm alive.
I often forget about life as I go through my robotic routines
but everyday there are small things that remind me to breathe.

It's the dots that eventually connect into an image.
I get sidetracked by the line drawing and for get there's a purpose.
The dots are a pause, seemingly insignificant, but the point of life.

It's the eagle that flew overhead, while wading in the water.
The song that comes on, at the perfect moment.
Or even a piece of garbage left on a staircase.

My life at times seems meaningless and mundane but it never is.
Even when I'm sitting doing nothing there's a purpose to it.
I'm living, breathing, seeing, knowing it's the small things.

That change everything.
